04 December 2012
www.chinabuses.org: December 2nd, 2012 was China's first "National Traffic Safety Day", and traffic safety become the social focus once again. Statistical data from Public Security Departments says traffic accidents cause 70 thousand deaths, 300 thousand injured and the loss of nearly CNY 1 billion.
As China's leading bus manufacturer, King Long is always the pioneer of safety technology R&D and new safety ideas. CTO Zhou, Fangming told the reporter that King Long started from active and passive safety technologies to improve the safety performance.
On February 22nd, King Long XMQ6900Y bus hit head-on the test barrier at the speed of 30km/h in Ministry of Communications Beijing test field. It turned out that King Long XMQ6900Y, with complete body structure and intact passengers after the hit, reached the standard of ECE R29.
After over-two-year R&D, King Long launched its self-made LDWS, front-collision warning system and automatic speed limiting control system in July 2012.
Doctor Chen, Xiaobing said: "That from passive safety to active safety reveals the upgrade of safety ideas. Telematics and electronic technologies are the trend in the future."
It's said the above safety technologies have been put into commercialized application and King Long is working on nigh-vision imaging system and fatigue driving warning system, etc.
