Nanjing to Invite Tender for 780 City Buses

www.chinabuses.org: It's known that Jiangsu Overseas Group International Engineering Consultation Company was entrusted by Nanjing Public Transport Company to organize 2012 city bus invitation of tender, including 780 city buses, mainly LNG.
The required city buses will be confirmed according to three public transport companies' plans. Compared with former requirements, two features this year are: 1. LNG city buses will be used in Nanjing for the first time; 2. Mainly 12m city buses will be purchased.
Experts said compared to CNG, LNG is advantageous in emission pollution, gas cylinder size, fuel efficiency and safety, etc. Nanjing Authorities are building some LNG filling stations and current CNG stations will be rebuilt for both CNG and LNG.
Four phases for the tendering are: 1. 250 12m LNG city buses; 2. 100 10m LNG city buses, 70 12m low-floor city buses and 10 12m hybrid city buses; 3. 220 12m diesel city buses; 4. 80 10m diesel city buses and 50 8m diesel city buses.
