www.chinabuses.org： On September 20th-27th, IAA 2012, world's most influential CV exhibition with 230,000m2 exhibition area this year, was held in Hanover, Germany, attracting over 1800 bus, truck, special vehicle and spare parts enterprises. As the first China bus manufacturer debuting in IAA 2008, King Long has attended IAA for the third time with five models on show in its 600m2 exhibition stand-XMQ6800AGD, XMQ6900, XMQ6996, XMQ6129 and XMQ6130C.

On the Media Day of September 19th, King Long held the press briefing themed by "4S4U" for its three designed-for-European-market models - XMQ6800AGD, XMQ6996 & XMQ6130C and "4S" innovation technology, attracting over 200 attendees from European and Chinese mainstream media.

As one of China's largest bus manufacturers and exporters, King Long entered European market in 2003, with 9 products passing WVTA and 6 products passing Russian GOST till 2011, covering city buses, tourist buses and group buses, etc.

Deputy General Manager of King Long Xu, Xiangdong said the company brought five models in accordance with EU regulations to IAA, including three new ones developed exclusively for European market, in order to meet the requirements of segment markets and offer better products to European customers.

8m three-door & low-floor XMQ6800AGD, equipped with 225-horsepower Cummins ISBE6.7EV225B Euro V engine and ZF ECOLIFE6AP1200B auto transmission, is co-developed by King Long and its Italian partner. Its succinct and modern appearance meets European aesthetic standard, and monocoque design strengthens the bus body and lower the weight.

10m XMQ6996 is developed for short-distance transport and tourism market in Europe. Streamline appearance reveals its elegance and dynamic fashion; Cummins B-series Euro V engine is powerful and environmentally-friendly; Space optimization design increase the seat capacity, to 41 at the most and wheelchair lifting device reflects the humane care.

Based on King Long original inter city bus XMQ6120C, the 13m XMQ6130C is suitable for short-distance transport of standing passengers who get on and off the bus frequently. XMQ6130C is equipped with Cummins Euro V engine and ZF manual transmission. Lightened body and interchangeability of spares parts reduce the maintenance cost. Max seat-capacity reaches 60, and grab rail & parking ring are convenient for passengers. Besides, XMQ6130C boasts of its capability of low-speed in downtown and high-speed in the highway, let alone the competitiveness in price and configuration. 

CSO of King Long Overseas Department Xie, Weiguo said: "Years' endeavor perfects King Long product line in Europe. Nowadays the company has nine WVTA models and six GOST models, covering city buses, tourist buses and group buses from 8 meters to 13 meters. Five more will pass WVTA in late 2012."

He also said King Long would upgrade the emission of its European models based on EGR and SCR according to EU environmental regulations and launch some new Euro VI models in 2013.

To produce buses in Europe



As the birthplace of buses and coaches, Europe has the most mature and leading quality, production quality and standards. And there is nearly no market space for other countries bus manufacturers.

 

As the first China bus builder to enter European markets, 82 King Long 11-meter low-floor city buses were exported to Malta in 2003. Till now, King Long buses have been exported to twelve EU countries and the market inventory are 2,500 units.

 

In Malta King Long cooperates with ARRIVA Group, one of the leading transport groups in Europe, and 70% city buses are provided by King Long. They exported nearly 200 tourist coaches to Italy, and their market shares rank the second till now. This year over 100 King Long buses served London Olympic Games, and ten King Long XMQ6127 buses become charted buses for SAMSUNG.



King Long is building general marketing and service networks in Europe. As President of King Long, Gu Tao said, King Long is keen to provide high-end products in Europe, and King Long sales of buses in Europe take 30% of their overseas sales. King Long is busying talking with major European transport providers.

King Long is willing to cooperate with some leading European bus makers on technology and ventures, and they are evening planning to purchase some European companies to design and produce better buses for customers.
