Russia Reducing Tariff to Benefit China CV Export

27 August 2012

www.chinabuses.org:On August 22nd, 2012, Russia joined the WTO, which meant Russia must reduce its tariff gradually as had promised. According to the agreement, general tariff will decrease from 10% in 2011 to 7.8%.

Russia is a vast market with few local bus enterprises and most of its buses reply on import. Besides, Russia even imports second-hand buses from American and European markets every year.

With good industrial base, Russia has great potential in coach and city bus market. In 2008, Russia took some restrictive measures to protect its own auto industry, making the decline of China's export.

Russia is the key market for Higer, Zhongtong and Ankai, etc. and tariff cut, as critical element for Russia to join the WTO, would be beneficial to China auto export.
