China Buses Pass WVTA Successively

www.chinabuses.org:In the 1990s, Setra, Benz, MAN and Neoplan from Germany, VOLVO and Scania from Sweden, Irizar from Spain and VDL from Holland entered into China for strategic partners, in order to reduce the production cost. In the process of technology introduction and joint venture cooperation, China bus production levels got improved as well. 21st century witnesses the development of China bus industry and many bus manufacturers are aiming at European and American high-end bus market.


King Long was China’s first bus manufacturer to challenge WVTA and in September 2004, top luxury buses XMQ6127 and XMQ6900 accepted the test of VCA and the two models passed the test with the help of Malta Agent, which means China buses were access to be sold in European market. In March, 2005, King Long declared to enter European market. In the following years, King Long XMQ6127J, XMQ6900J, XMQ6800, XMQ6120C and XMQ6130Y passed the WVTA.


In 2009, Golden Dragon applied for the test of WVTA directly and its XML6155 city bus passed the WVTA in January 2010.


In March 2012, Guangtong GTO6117BEVB passed all the tests and was granted “WVTA Complete Vehicle Certificate”, as the first certified pure-electric bus. In May, TUV granted WVTA certificate to Alfa bus.
