Chongqing Boosts Operation of New Energy Buses

www.chinabuses.org: On July 5th, with the No 689 bus line being into operation, 25 units of the fast-charging pure electric buses were officially put into use in Yubei District, Chongqing Province. It is the first bus line that the fast-charging pure electric buses run on it in the world.
Except the fast-charging pure electric buses, Chongqing also have put nearly 200 units of fast-charging hybrid buses into operation. According the staff from Chongqing Public Transportation Company, before 2013, Chongqing will put 800 units of fast-charging hybrid buses and 200 units of fast-charging pure electric buses into use.
Chongqing New Energy Vehicle Operation Company has been established for passenger transportation and rental business, in order to promote the demonstration operation of new energy vehicles. Chongqing Electric Power Corp. has already completed the construction of charging stations in Chayuan of Jiangbei District and Konggang New Zone of Yubei District and is engaged in the construction of charging stations in Baiheyuan of Nan’an District, meeting the needs of the demonstration operation.
