www.chinabuses.org: On November 1st, 2011, Ministry of Industry of Argentina signed an agreement with BYD Company which planned to produce electric city buses and lithium battery.

Minister Débora Giorgi signed the agreement with President of the board of directors and CEO of BYD Company WANG, Chuanfu, according to which BYD Company would produce electric buses and accessories in Argentina. Besides, BYD Company planned to cooperate with Argentinean enterprises to produce lithium batteries for cell phones, laptop computers and UMPCs.

Débora Giorgi said the agreement represented a significant progress in economic and trade cooperation of the two countries. It was a good opportunity for China to transfer clean energy technologies to Argentina that became the export platform of BYD Company.
