www.chinabuses.org: Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the exposure draft of “Fuel Consumption Limits of Heavy Commercial Vehicles (First Stage)”, which was to improve the fuel-efficiency of heavy commercial vehicles.

The limits apply to gasoline and diesel commercial vehicles of over 3500kg, including trucks (excluding dump trucks), buses (excluding city buses) and semi-trailers etc. Fuel consumption limits of the buses (excluding city buses) are divided into 12 categories, from 14L/100km to 33L/100km, while limits of gasoline buses are to be multiplied by 1.3 accordingly and rounded to one decimal place. Limits of heavy trucks are from 15.5L/100km to 50L/100km, while limits of gasoline trucks are to be multiplied by 1.3 accordingly, semi-trailers from 38L to 56L.

Previously, high energy-consuming vehicles were used in road transport industry mainly due to the lack of industry standards, the problem of which would be solved with the release of the draft.
