Continental AG Invests 500 Million Dollars for New Tire Plant in USA

www.chinabuses.org: Continental AG subsidiary CTA planed to invest 500 million dollars to set up a new tire plant in Sumter of South Carolina, USA.
This project will create 1700 posts for South Carolina State, including 80 posts for the headquarters expansion in Lancaster. CTA will invest at least 4 million dollars to expand the headquarters to 91 thousand square feet. Tire CMO of Continental AG Nikolai Setzer said: “This investment is mainly due to the outstanding performance of CTA and increasing demands for Continental tires in USA market.” In the first phase 5 million tires will be manufactured per year before 2017, then up to 8 million in 2020.
