Beiqi Foton Motor Strives for 1500000 New Energy Vehicles

ww.chinabuses.org: The new energy bus plant of Beiqi Foton Motor Co. Ltd in Guangdong has formally put into service in Foshan City recently. It is know that this plant refers to two phases (it will own the annual output of 10,000 complete vehicles in phase one and 20,000 units in phase two) , covering the area of about 800mu, about to build up the important production base of China new energy buses in Foshan.
According to the related staff from Beiqi Foton Motor, this plant is mainly related to the manufacturing of new energy buses, such as hybrid power and electric buses, annual sales revenues of almost 18 billion Yuan and employment of over 4000 staffs. Beiqi Foton Motor will invest more on new technologies to launch more new energy buses, based on this plant in Guandong. In addition, this auto producer plans to implement the project of components of new energy buses, making the production base and development center of power battery module systems of new energy vehicles.
Since 13th March 2009, Beiqi Foton Motor has taken the leading to set up the first industry alliance of new energy vehicles in China. By far, the new energy vehicles produced by this company include light-duty motor vehicles, cars, buses and medium and heavy trucks. Foton Motor expects to become the world leading automobile producer with ten years as its “2020 Strategy”. Also, the project of the establishing of 50-50 joint venture with Daimler has obtained the approval from Ministry of Commerce. This joint venture plans to realize the sales of 1500000 units by 2015, 30% for exporting and energy-saving automobiles accounting for 10%.
