40000 Charging Piles to be built in Beijing in 2011-2015

www.chinabuses.org: On 20th September 2011, it is revealed by the related director from State Grid that there will be 256 charging stations, 210 distribution stations and 42000 charging piles in Beijing during the period of the twelfth five-year plan (2011-2015).


At present, there have been 50 units electric taxis, 1060 units electric sanitation trucks and 50 units electric city buses in operation in Beijing. Hang Tianqiao Charging Station for New Energy Vehicles is the first one having been built, where 200 units sanitation trucks swap batteries. Normally, one 8-ton sanitation truck can make it within four minutes and 16-ton within eight minutes. The power can afford to the driving of 120 kilometers.


It is known that there will be 256 charging stations, 210 distribution stations and 42000 charging piles in Beijing during the period of the twelfth five-year plan, including 18 recharging and swap stations for city buses, 63 ones for sanitation trucks and 385 ones for cars. And then the charing and battery swap service will be provided each five kilometers for the demand of 770 city buses, 8080 sanitation trucks and 62470 cars. In addition, solar energy and wind energy source will be considered to be developed for recharging of the electric motor vehicles.
