It is known that it is the first time for Hainan Public Transport Group to publicly invite tender for 110 units city buses, including 60 units LNG buses and 50 untis gas-electric hybrid power city buses. And Zhongtong Bus won the biggest order from a field of strong competitors with outstanding products: LCK6105HGC and LCK6105PHENV.
The delivered gas(LNG)-electric hybrid power city buses are the first ones in China, equipped with Yuchai engines (National IV), optimal power matching design, special materials and technologies against high temperature and corrosion in local city, impressive for human-centered design such as large side window, skylight with exhaust fans, antiskid plastic flooring, four safety hammers.

In recent years, Zhongtong Bus remains increasing inventory of buses, always occupying No.1 for market shares in Hainan, for example, more than 300 units LCK6910GC buses in Haikou city.
Since 2004, Zhongtong Bus has started to develop and produce new energy buses. In 2007, it invested 56 million Yuan on labs for engineering center of new energy buses and successfully developed hybrid power and electric city buses for Olympic Games, realizing mass production. In recent years, the manufacturer has accumulated the investment of more than 220 million Yuan, including 60 million in 2010. By far, more than 400 Zhongtong new energy buses have been operated in the domestic cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jinan, Taian, Laiwu, Liaocheng and Hangzhou.
