www.chinabuses.org: It’s reported that BYD said on Thursday pure electric buses would be exported to Taiwan before the end of this year and there might be factories to be built in Taiwan next.
“Now we are exporting pure electric buses to Taiwan, next we will build factories there but it will need some time”, Said the spokesman of BYD LIN, Mi.
The Economic Daily News said on Thursday that BYD top leaders frequently visited Taiwan recently to seek partners for European and American pure electric vehicle markets.
LIN, Mi said they had obtained some small orders from Taiwan and they would send these buses before the end of this year. “We have so many orders right now from Shenzhen, Europe and America, which are beyond our capacity”, he said. 250 electric buses had been sent to Shenzhen and a batch of buses would be sent to Hongkong in November. Furthermore, some would be sent to Singapore this year and to Europe and America in 2012.
The Economic Daily News pointed out that the number of automotive enterprises from mainland investing in Taiwan increased recently, mainly including complete vehicles, trucks and electric buses. BYD was contacting with two Taiwan enterprises for technical cooperation and it was possible for BYD to set up complete vehicle factory in Taiwan.
It’s reported that share price of BYD fell due to its reduction in sales and profits. During the financial crisis in 2009, Warren Buffett purchased 10% of BYD shares, making the share price rise to 10 times within one year. Although the price was falling, especially these days H share price fell 21%, the investors was optimistic about Buffett’s holding the shares.
