King Long Bus Makes the Biggest Exporting of China Buses to EU

www.chinabuses.org: In the morning of 2 April 2011, the delivery ceremony of 172 King Long buses (XMQ6900J and XMQ6127J) exporting to Malta was grandly held in Xiamen Modern Port and these buses have been formally delivered to the Malta branch of ARRIVA Group (European top transport operator), which will be used in this July. The order refers to the amount of over 15 million Euro and the cooperative agreement has been made between King Long Bus and Arriva on 22 September 2010.

Looking back to the exporting to the market in developed countries, King Long Bus has contacted one dealer in Malta for the replacement of the local old city buses and signed the agreement for 46 units till the end of 2002. Till 2003, there are 82 King Long buses in total exporting to Malta, the first China buses exporting to European market.
After the exporting to Malta, King Long Bus strengthens the opening of the markets in Middle East, Africa and South America since 2004. Also, it speeds up the application of the certificate for complete vehicles in EU market and gradually gets the orders for the products in batches since 2005. In 2005, the first XMQ6127 formally exported to Britain, over 100 units currently; entry into Italian tourist coach market in 2006, almost 300 units there; access to French market with products: XMQ6800, XMQ6900 and XMQ6127, possibly over 100 units this year.

Keith Bastow, General Manger of Malta branch of Arriva Group showed that he was impressed by King Long products in full accordance with their requirements. The cooperation with the European top transport service group further promotes the opening of King Long Bus in EU market. Based on the data, King Long Bus has exported over 200 buses & coaches to EU market and possibly more than 500 units in 2011. The exporting revenue to the overseas high-end market, accounts for around 30% of the total exporting. Zhu Guoqiang, the Deputy General Manager of King Long Bus expressed, “We are making the sample vehicles for the North America market and shall conduct the tests for the certificated for America. It is predicted the mass production and sales can be realized in 2013 there. King Long Bus will become the China bus builder with the widest overseas sales.”
