FAW Bus：Industrialization of Hybrid Power Buses

www.chinabuses.org:According to Liu Minghui, the principal of Electric Vehicles Division of Technology Center of FAW Bus, FAW has developed the technology platform of biaxial parallel hybrid power currently and realized the functions of idling starting/stopping, low speed electric drive, separate drive, combined drive and regenerative braking.
Based on the platform, FAW developed fuel-electric and gas-electric 11-meter and 12-meter hybrid power buses respectively and have operated these vehicles in Changchun, Dalian and Kunming (442 units in total). In the actual operation, the fuel saving ratio of these buses can come 28% in the urban and both economic and environment effect is obvious.
It is known that FAW has undertaken the project of electric vehicles of "Plan 863" issued by Ministry of Science and Technology and started the development of new energy vehicles since the beginning of the period of "the tenth five-year plan". With almost ten years' effort, it has built the advanced technology platform of hybrid power and realized the industrialization of the complete vehicles.
