Yutong Bus to Sell City Commuters in South Africa

There is no air-conditioner for the 11.6-meter buses with rather simple interior trimmings. Altogether there are sixty seats with “3+2”model which is rarely seen in China. And this is the bus model just developed for South Africa.
In South Africa, city commuters are used for citizens and black labors, so the bus models are just rather simply equipped with ability to endure high temperature and dirty. But they have rather high requirements on safety settings. And if bus builder wants to enter South Africa markets, they have to pass the identification approval in South Africa which is as strict as that in Europe for three to six months or even longer. In addition, carrying capacity of rear axle cannot be over 10.2 tons.
Yutong made lots of market investigations before entering South Africa markets, and they decide to sell city commuters and plain tourist buses.
Yutong buses entered South Africa markets since 2009, and they have sold over 50 buses here. Yutong deems that South Africa is a promising market, and they hope to sell 10% of new buses in two or three years.
