Alfa Electric Buses Run on Demonstration Routes

www.chinabuses.org:At the beginning of 2011, the largest charging station and the longest route for electric buses in Jiangsu Province have been built up and the first ten electric city buses developed by Jiangsu Alfa Bus have rolled off the production line and will be operated recently.

To make green traffic and low-carbon city, Jiangyin Transportation Bureau speeds up the launching of electric city buses apart from one hundred natural gas city buses in the first half of this year. It plans to operate 20 electric city buses and make one electric bus route.
One electric city bus costs about 117 kWh for one hundred kilometers (58.5 Yuan) while one conventional city bus takes around 280 Yuan. In addition, there is no pollutant emission for electric buses.

In October 2010, the first electric city buses from Alfa Bus have been produced. In the beginning of 2011, Jiangyin charging station has set up and can afford to the recharging of five buses. The electric city bus is available for 150 kilometers with air-conditioner open and full loading after four hour's charging.
