406 King Long City Buses Delivered to Senegal

www.chinabuses.org: Delivery ceremony of 406 Kinglong city buses, which belongs to China aiding Senegal Bus Program, was held in Senegal presidential palace on Oct. 5, 2010. President of Senegal, Abdoulaye Wade, Premier, Marie NDiaye, Gong Yuanxing, China ambassador to Senagal as well as representatives of Kinglong attended the ceremony.

As one of China’s aiding Senegal programs, the concessional loan program was signed in February, 2009, including four complete vehicles and 402 CKD buses valuing above 160 million RMB. Kinglong Bus made every efforts on product development, CKD exports, trainings, facilitates changes and local manufacturing guidance to fulfill the committees between two countries.

  
As introduced by Mr. Gong, the cooperation between Kinglong and Seneal counterpart is one of the results of President Hu Jindao’s visit to Senegal last February. The program provides 2000 more employment opportunities and also a new cooperation mode between China and African countries, that is, China provides technology and knowledge to help industrialization upgrade.

Senegal President Mr. Wade praised the bus aiding program, he stated that the bus assembly can be deemed as the beginning of Senegal auto industry, and China can surely sell complete buses to Senegal, however, they chose CKD to transfer technology and knowledge to Senegal and he believe there is no other country in the world can do this.


  
The second phase negotiation has started after the successful delivery, and it predicts that there will be more buses to be assembled in Senegal to improve their transport condition.
