China Minibus Market Surges

www.chinabuses.org: According to statistics from CAAM, production and sales of minibus in the first half year amounted to 1.28 million units and 1.33 million units, up 38.73% and 42.87% respectively, and this is also the first time to exceed one million units in half a year. Although Shanghai GM Wuling and CHANA take 80% of the market share, Zhengzhou Nissan, Chery, and BAW are also joining the fierce competition.


  
Production and sales of minibuses were 1.95 million units, up 83% last year. With promotion sales of vehicles in rural areas and announcement of spreading lists of energy-saving vehicles (with 1.6L displacement or less), it predicts that China minibus markets will surge this year.


  
Zhengzhou Nissan introduced the concept of CDV to China for the first time, and their according products, Shuangke and NV200 have been welcomed by buyers. Sales of Shuangke has surpassed 10,000 units till September and sales of NV200 has passed 5,000 units since released this June.

 

As one of the automobile giants, BAW is working on minibus projects on schedule. Their micro vehicles production base in Zhuzhou with annual production ability of 200,000 units has finished. And BAW has cooperated with Chongqing Yinxiang to build minibus manufacturer. Apart from Beijing Benz, Beijing Hyundai and Beiqi Foton, BAW heads to minibus markets inevitably.
