www.chinabuses.org: Around the national day holiday, there will be about 100 environmental city buses in operation. According to the traffic project issued by the government on 14 Sept., the purchasing tender for the first 727 diesel city buses has been completed and this is the first time that the city buses equipped with the engine with national standard V are applied in China.

It is revealed that the appearance of these new buses is almost the same as that of the current ones. It has stricter demand on emission for these new buses. In addition, about 40,000 ones with high pollutants and 2,478 old ones will be replaced for environment.

The related expert showed that the emission level of all city buses reaches over Euro Ⅲ, and 45% of them comes to Euro Ⅳ in Beijing. "That means the emission level of city buses in Beijing not only is advantageous over other domestic cities but also keeps in pace with that of international cities."

It is known that the new buses will all be new environmental ones, including hybrid power, electric and trolley buses, apart from diesel buses with national standard V.
