Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd, established in 1996, has lead China's commercial vehicle industry for four consecutive years with its complete product line-up. Foton is second globally in terms of volume, following Mercedes-Benz's commercial vehicle business.

Through 12 years fast development, Beiqi Foton has surpassed Western companies with long histories and has built a strong made-in-China brand in an industry where power lies in the hands of developed countries. "Quality is the groundwork of a brand," says chief general manager of the Beijing-based automaker. "The quality of the product represents the integrated capability of the enterprise. Furthermore, made-in-China shows the comprehensive strength and power of our country. "We have made the China brand renowned in the world's commercial vehicle segment and now we are ready for a second jump fuelled by our independent innovation aimed at expand Beiqi Foton's business to the world," he adds.

The company is targeting an annual production of 1 million passenger vehicles in the near future. The other ambition of Beiqi for this year is to set up a joint venture in Russia, a key step toward global expansion. With an annual production capacity of 100,000 trucks, the Russia plant will be its first production facility abroad.
