NPC/CPPCC: Premier Wen Jiabao Praises Weichai Power on its Research and Reform

www.chinabuses.org: On the afternoon March 8, 2010, Premier Wen Jiabao and vice premier Wang Qishan came to Shandong delegation during the 13th NPC/CPPCC to ponder reports from deputy to the NPC. After listening to Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Power, Mr. Wen fully praised achievements of Weichai Power.

Tan Xuguang gave a speech on recombination and constructive adjustment after learning government work report by Premier Wen. Mr Tan introduced that proceeds of sales has increased to ￥50bn ($7,324,648,000) from ￥500m ($73,246,000) ten years ago, becoming the biggest domestic professional engine maker with reputation around the world. And their experience in this process is that they forged unique core competitiveness by structural adjustment, and they also realized fundamental changes on development mode by recombination. As chairman of China Internal Combustion Engine Industries Association, Mr. Tan put forward suggestion on energy saving and emission reduction on gas engines.
Mr. Wen pointed out that there are six experiences deserving learning, including structural adjustment, research and development, management esp. examination system, talents introduction, deepening reform as well as popularization of energy-saving techniques. He said that Weichai Power developed a lot in the past few years although they encountered some difficulties. Mr. Tan expressed his resolution of carrying out decisions of NPC/CPPCC and further pushes development of China equipment manufacturing industry.
