China Focuses on Development of Auto Design
01 March 2010
www.chinabuses.org: News from First Automotive Works Group (FAW for short as below) reports that it wins a gold medal at the 11th China Patent Awards in Beijing recently. The competition is held by Chinese government. Through the competition, the sponsor aims to boost the nation's intellectual property strategy and accelerate creation of proprietary intellectual property.
In 1980s, China began its industrial design. However, development pace of China still lags behind many developed countries. Many countries know that design is very important for auto industry. Hence, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher once said the country could do without a prime minister but not designers. Besides that, the US federal government has a special department for design and it claimed "Design America".
According to China's five-year development plan, the country encourages auto industrial original design. China will boost the related cooperation with foreign designers and explore the potential of the emerging design market.
