www.chinabuses.org : On 15 January 2010, Bridgestone was chosen in the "Multinational Contribution Award List 2009" hosted by the Chinese Enterprises CSR Research Center, China Enterprise News and the Business Research Institute of China Enterprises Association again and finally obtained the "Multinational Contribution Award 2009"as the only representative of the tyre industry.

Mr. Wu Bangjun, the president of Bridgestone (China) and the director of the Bridgestone (China) Investment Co., Ltd. said that, “We hold the objective of becoming the beloved corporation and taking root in China, and focus on the cultivating of the talents, safe environment as well as social welfare. This award will accelerate us to proceed with our business with more social responsibility."

As a company with social responsibility, Bridgestone always takes "environment protection" as one important topic and applies the advanced environment awareness in each process of management, production, sales and research& development. At the end of 2009, the four tyre factories realized the breakthrough of the solid waste landfill rate below 0.5%. Bridgestone continuously researches and releases energy conservation and environmental tyres , in the meantime, enhances the economic and the durability of tyres. Through the activities such as "Green Driving", Bridgestone suggests the drivers to adopt the green driving mode and reduce the harm influence of the automotive.

Children are our future. Bridgestone organized a series of public benefit activities to help the development of the village elementary schools in the remote mountain areas in Sichuan in 2009.
