Changan Speeds up Expansion

www.chinabuses.org: News from Changan Motor Corporation, one of the biggest Chinese auto group, says its own-brand autos in Iran started to build in this year. The annual production capacity of new plan will reach 50,000 units. It will be expanded to 250,000 units four years later.

According to the president of Changan says the company aims to sell 200,000 vehicles per year to overseas market by 2010. In order to achieve the goal, Changan Motor Corporation plans to have a total of eight overseas manufacturing bases and launch eight passenger car and commercial vehicle models to overseas market. Currently, it has manufacturing bases in Malaysia, Pakistan and Iran. Regarding the European and US markets, Changan Group will gradually open it in near future.

It has 28,000 working staff including a thousand scientific and technical personnel and has also set up auto engineering research institutes and branch institutes in Italy, Germany, Shanghai and Chongqing of China. Production and sales of ChangAn autos rank in the top 20 worldwide and is No.1 in China.
