www.chinabuses.org: On December 2, our correspondent learned from Shanghai Economy and Information System Steering Committee that two new energy products of Shanghai Automobile Industry Corporation（thereafter referred to as SAIC）, Sunwin pure electric bus chassis and pure electric city bus have entered Automobile product list in Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in middle November. SAIC pure electric bus program entered rapid development period.

Sunwin pure electric city bus is a zero emission green bus developed for 2010 Shanghai World Expo. According to agreement, SAIC will provide nearly thousand new energy vehicles to World Expo, including pure electric bus, Super Capacitor bus, fuel cell and hybrid buses to help realize their green goal of “Zero emission in the park and low emission around the park”. And then Sunwin Buses may serve on the river-across lines for six consecutive months.

Chen Hong, CEO of SAIC, introduced SAIC will layout comprehensively in the whole industrial chain, including battery system, electric motors and control, power electronics, electromotion, development ability of electric air-conditioner and complete vehicle assembly ability. Currently, SAIC has signed agreements with city of Tangshan, and they will co-invest a new energy bus manufacture base with core competitiveness in Caofeidian.
