Shenzhou Bus Enters Int'l Market for the First Time

www.chinabuses.org: Two Jiangyin Shenzhou buses left Shanghai for Durban Port in South Africa on November 23, 2009. Once passing test by local authorities, the buses made in Jiangyin will serve 2010 South Africa World Cup.
The buses were manufactured by Wuxi Shenzhou Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Apart from the chassis bought from Brazil, all other parts were produced by domestic manufacturers; the capacity are 22 seats and 32 seats with total value of 120,000 USD. After arrived in South Africa, the buses will be rigorously tested, including lighting, road, crush and rollover, and then the bus will be purchased in batch and serve in 2010 South Africa World Cup once passing tests.
Requirements of technology and technology for the bus is even higher compared with average buses for special need in the World Cup, especially in anti-crush, anti-rollover, and fire resistance. To ensure smooth export of the buses, Wuxi Shenzhou Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. cooperated closely with Jiangyin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau to research technique requirements of overseas buyer and they have also invited automobile inspection exports to solve problems on manufacturing techniques and quality of raw materials.
It’s learned that the bus builder refers to overseas large bus builder manufacture mode and introduced foreign advanced painting application production lines and domestic advanced welding and assembly lines. Currently they can produce 7-12-meter and 8-60 seats medium and large luxurious buses with annual production capacity up to 3,000 units. And the operation with South Africa is a successful try to enter international markets.
