Changchun Plans to Buy 1,000 Hybrid City Buses

English.chinabuses.com: on Jul. 19, China Urban Public Transportation Association held a seminar in Changchun on the implementation of “Public Transport First Initiative” in northeast China. Over 170 representatives from a number of urban bus operators in over 40 cities across the region participated in the event.

During the seminar, Changchun, the provincial capital of Jilin Province disclosed that the city is now planning to purchase 1,000 units of eco-friendly and energy-efficient hybrid city buses in the next few years. In 2009, the city will buy the first batch of 100 units.
According to CUI Shusen, President of Changchun Public Transport Group, the bus operator will take a host of measures to better the public transport infrastructure in Changchun city so as to provide local citizens with more convenient and comfortable mobility.
