On July 7, the first national transport industry Yutong Cup Energy- efficient Contest of motor vehicle drivers was unveiled grandly in Fuzhou, Fujian province, aimed to popularize the “green driving” philosophy and increase the vocational quality of practitioners.  

It is learned that 60 people are expected to take part in the contest at the first stop of Fuzhou. The buses used in the contest are all Yutong’s ZK6127H buses, which are 12 meter long and also the sales champion bus model of the year 2008.

Yutong has been constantly exploring the long-term energy efficiency standards and also making its own efforts to continually refresh the industry standard. In respect of the management, Yutong insists the concept of sustainable development, attaching concerns on both environment friendliness and production operation. In terms of the research and development, relying on the state-level technical center, the first post-doctoral research workstation in the industry as well as the sole bus experiment center in the industry, Yutong has continuously increased its R&D capability, among which the energy-efficient and emission-cut technologies are the important issues. The thermal management technology of engines developed by Yutong can cut the fuel consumption by 5%~10% compared with the ones in the same kind which are not equipped with this technology. Cooperated with Alcoa Inc. from USA, Yutong has launched a full-aluminium city bus, which has lower weight, higher fuel efficiency and better safety.
