Huanghai: NEV Gains Popularity amid Market Upheaval

English.chinabuses.com: in early 2009 amid the continuing spreading global financial crisis, Dandong Huanghai Automotive Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Dandong Huanghai) rolled out a couple of new bus models, including Huanghai all-electric city bus, Huanghai series-parallel hybrid bus, Huanghai ultra-capacitor city bus, Huanghai parallel hybrid city bus (Eaton light-duty hybrid).

Partnering with such internationally famed parts & accessories manufacturers as Eaton and AAM, Dandong Huanghai realized profits of RMB 255,500 (about USD 37,389.33) in 2008. Currently, its CNG city buses have made their presence in a host of cities across China, including Beijing, Tianjin, Yinchuan, Xi’an, Changzhou, etc.

With a total investment of RMB 600 million (about USD 87.8027 million), Dandong Huanghai entered high-end coach, midi bus and BRT areas and set up Changzhou Huanghai Automotive Co., Ltd. in Mar. 2007. It is expected that the new bus building facility in Jiangsu will boast an annual production capacity of 2,000 units of high- and mid-class buses, 5,000 units of midi buses and 300 units of BRT parts.
Dandong Huanghai, 96.76% shares of which are now owned by SG Automotive Group, is now aiming high and has been strengthening itself amid the ongoing financial crisis.
