Xi’an Unveils Bid Winners for City Bus Procurement

English.chinabuses.com: on Jul. 2, Xi’an Public Transport Corp. unveils bid winners for its city bus procurement. After several rounds of intense bid offers, Dongfeng Yangzijiang, Chongqing Hengtong, Dandong Huanghai and Zhengzhou Yutong finally stood out and became the four will-be suppliers for Xi’an’s purchase of 185 units of city buses, which amount to RMB 36 million (about USD 5.26747 million) in value.
According to the bus operator in Xi’an, Dongfeng Yangzijiang is the biggest winner in among the four suppliers and will provide 100 units of city buses valued at RMB 24.73 million (about USD 3.61882 million). Chongqing Hengtong offers a city bus model priced at RMB 243,200 (about USD 35,589.33) per unit and is expected to deliver 70 units for Xi’an city, according to the deal. In addition, Dandong Huanghai will deliver ten units of 12-meter air-conditioned city buses and Zhengzhou Yutong will provide five units of 8-meter air-conditioned vehicles to the capital city of Shaanxi Province.
In recent years, Xi’an Municipal Government has put the development of public transport high on its agenda so as to provide more convenience for the local people. From 2007 and 2008, the city purchased 410 units of city buses in total.
