News from FAW Group Corporation (FAW for short as below) reported that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new-energy bus plant at Dalian Economic & Technological Development Zone, Dalian, Liaoning province, June 5, 2009.

Construction of the new-energy vehicle production base is one of the important parts for FAW 's development plan. As one of the key automakers in China, FAW has been focusing on the development of the new-energy bus project, and has developed hybrid vehicle powertrain, electric-controlled engine system and AMT system since 2001.

According to the plan, the new plant will be completed in July 2010 and its annual production capacity will reach 3,000 units.
