As a global high-end bus platform, the GC Series made its world debut in Europe — a clear signal of Golden Dragon's commitment to overseas markets. To date, the GC Series has secured more than 100 overseas orders, early proof of its strong international market potential. The recent domestic launch of its full model range marks a key milestone: the GC Series has moved from global premiere to full-scale worldwide delivery.
Peng Dongqing, Chairman of Golden Dragon Bus, said: "We are fully prepared and determined to build the GC Series into an industry benchmark and an enduring classic."
Proven on the World's Most Demanding Grounds
To achieve this ambition, Golden Dragon has put the GC Series through the toughest testbeds available: the European market and globally aligned top-tier standards.
Built as a global platform, the GC Series must prove itself in the world's most stringent markets. Wang Jinji, General Manager of Golden Dragon Overseas Sales, told commercial vehicle media: "We chose Europe for the global launch because Europe is the birthplace of the coach industry and widely recognised as a premium market. Its regulations, emissions rules, safety codes and full-lifecycle operational requirements set an extremely high bar. Our logic is straightforward: if the GC Series succeeds in Europe, it can succeed anywhere in the world. So far, feedback from European customers has been excellent, with repeat orders coming in, especially from the Nordic region."

As of July this year, 18 GC Series coaches had been shipped to Nordic markets, while nearly 40 more were either in production or newly ordered. Beyond Europe, the GC Series is gaining traction in several key global regions, including Southeast Asia and the Americas, with growing orders from markets such as the Philippines, Jamaica and Sri Lanka.
How does the GC Series meet the diverse standards of different countries and regions? Golden Dragon's answer is simple: design for the strictest requirements from the outset. Zhang Gang, Director of Golden Dragon's Technology Center, cited rollover structural strength as an example. "The EU, China and other territories all have their own standards. We engineered the GC Series to meet the most demanding specification among them. The result is a vehicle body that is lighter, yet structurally stronger."
The GC platform has undergone one of the most rigorous validation programmes in bus development history to guarantee reliability and prevent field failures before vehicles reach customers. Zhang Gang revealed that investment in digital simulation validation was five times higher than for previous programmes. For physical vehicle testing, Golden Dragon built dozens of prototype units for full-condition validation. This dual verification strategy ensures dependable performance, allowing the GC Series to travel reliably across continents without limits.
One Unified System, Three Core Advantages
Golden Dragon aims to show global customers the true quality of Chinese buses — winning market share through superior products rather than low pricing.
This defines the mission of the GC Series: on the global stage, one unified platform delivers three core customer benefits to the highest standard — lower operating costs, hassle-free operation and improved profitability. In Wang Jinji's view, the GC platform's greatest strategic value for Golden Dragon's globalisation is that it enables the brand to move beyond simple product export toward capability export.

He described the journey of Chinese bus manufacturers going global in three phases: going out, getting established locally, and moving upmarket. "Chinese bus exports have gone through multiple stages. Today, the industry is past merely entering overseas markets; the next battleground is moving upmarket," Wang explained. Previously, entering a foreign market often meant adapting a single model to suit local regulations and client needs. With the GC platform, Golden Dragon now has a modular, standardised global technical foundation built on a unified architecture. It can rapidly adapt to different national regulations, energy options, road conditions and operating scenarios.
Moving forward, Golden Dragon will export far more than finished coaches. It will offer the full platform, technical standards, manufacturing systems, supply chain expertise and complete full-lifecycle service packages. Put simply, the company is shifting from the old model of "one custom model per country" to one platform, globally adaptable. The GC Series is not just an updated model line; it forms the foundational platform for Golden Dragon's next phase of global competition.

Following the successful global launch event, a broader journey for the GC Series across domestic and international markets is only just beginning. Wang Jinji told reporters that Europe remains the top overseas priority, focusing on premium new-energy coach markets in the Nordic and Western Europe. Breakthroughs in Europe will pave the way for the GC platform to enter more high-standard markets across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America. Golden Dragon's long-term goal is to evolve from "selling buses worldwide" to "serving global mobility with Chinese technology and standards," lifting the performance of passenger transport industries around the world.
