Madrid, Spain, September 22 (local time) — FIAA 2026, the International Bus Exhibition, kicked off at IFEMA Madrid. As Southern Europe's most influential bus industry event, FIAA 2026 brings together more than 100 global vehicle OEMs and supply-chain players, covering the full industrial value chain from vehicle manufacturing and new energy technologies to digital mobility services. Higer Bus brought four products to the show: the V13, Azure 9, FENCER f6 electric intercity bus and F1 electric bus chassis. More than 100 European media outlets and industry clients visited the booth to experience the smart mobility solutions Higer developed for the European market.

On the opening day, Higer Bus, representing China's bus sector, held a prominent press conference. Li Zhi, Chief Engineer of Higer's new V Series, and Xiao Hailang, Chief Engineer of the Higer FENCER range, took the stage to elaborate on the design philosophy and technical highlights of each product line.

Bruno, Business Development Director of REMO, Higer's Spanish electric mobility partner, reviewed the long-standing partnership between REMO and Higer. He noted that the collaboration has moved beyond the traditional manufacturer-dealer relationship. The two sides work hand in hand to support operators through the full electrification transition — from operational demand analysis, customized vehicle R&D and manufacturing, to charging infrastructure deployment, new energy support and aftersales services — delivering one-stop green mobility solutions.

The V13 stands out as the star exhibit.

Its driver cabin features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and floating touchscreen for clear visibility of key data. The infotainment system and HVAC can be controlled via voice commands. Full LED lighting and lightweight construction enable high passenger capacity with low fuel consumption. Measuring 13.15 meters long and 3.85 meters high, it delivers a spacious cabin. Two rows of aisle seats can slide sideways, paired with a luggage compartment of over 10 cubic meters, meeting demands for long-haul comfort and large baggage capacity.

 

The vehicle's in-service noise level is 2 decibels lower than the European standard. Premium carpeting, amber ambient lighting, high-speed-train-style pull-down curtains and ergonomic seats create an upscale travel experience. All seats come standard with headrests, footrests and entertainment touchscreens for passengers to enjoy audio and video on the move. In addition, the wheelchair lift can be mounted on the front axle, and wheelchair passenger seats are detachable — a thoughtful, human-centred design.

 

Also drawing strong attention is the Azure 9, a 9-metre low-floor electric city bus tailor-made for the European market. It is fitted with top-tier international brand batteries with a capacity of 268.7 kWh. Lightweight architecture, front independent suspension and an ECAS system with lift and kneeling functions allow the bus to navigate narrow streets in old European cities with ease. Notably, the Azure 9 is equipped with a full-vehicle CAN bus and T-BOX, enabling customers to monitor vehicle health in real time via a cloud platform. Key components are sourced from well-known European brands; both hardware and software are engineered for European operators. The model is already in service across Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium, Iceland and other European countries.

 

While the V13 and Azure 9 demonstrate Higer's complete vehicle capabilities, the FENCER range showcases Higer's robust strength in "complete vehicles + chassis". The FENCER f6 is developed for intercity passenger transport. It features battery pre-heating and pre-cooling for charging, and a highly integrated high-voltage system that cuts maintenance costs. It maximizes passenger space, with ADAS advanced driver assistance systems to safeguard driving safety. The FENCER f1 integrates chassis, powertrain and ADAS systems, supporting 360kW high-power fast charging. Its self-developed 5-in-1 / 6-in-1 high-voltage components deliver low energy consumption and stable, reliable performance. The chassis can be flexibly adapted for diverse city bus applications, providing high-quality foundational hardware for urban bus electrification across Europe.

Higer products are now available in more than 30 European countries and regions, with new energy models accounting for over 80% of its European fleet. Green mobility is deeply embedded in Higer's European footprint. This debut is not an end, but a new starting point for Higer to deepen its European presence and engage with the world.
