On July 21, Shandong Heavy Industry hosted its first overseas new energy and digital intelligence expo at the Vietnam National Exhibition Center (VEC). At the event, Weichai presented its full-spectrum product portfolio—built around five core technology routes—to partners from 62 countries, offering China-developed, all-scenario solutions for green and intelligent power systems.
Rather than pursuing a single "perfect" technology, Weichai pursues a multi-pathway strategy, letting real-world applications and market demand determine the best fit for each use case.
1. Battery Electric System
Weichai has developed a fully self-contained industrial chain covering batteries, electric drive assemblies, and vehicle controllers. Its proprietary solutions mitigate safety risks and long charging times under heavy-load, high-temperature conditions, giving battery-electric commercial vehicles a competitive edge based on performance—not just policy incentives. These vehicles are now gaining traction in high-frequency applications such as ports and logistics parks.
2. Hybrid Power System
Offering series, parallel, and power-split hybrid architectures alongside range-extender products, Weichai fills the gap between short-range urban logistics and long-haul freight. This hybrid approach balances carbon reduction with operational efficiency, particularly in regions where charging infrastructure remains underdeveloped.
3. Hydrogen Fuel Cell System
Weichai has built an independent, full-chain hydrogen fuel cell technology system. Its fuel cell engines for 49-ton heavy trucks and megawatt-class hydrogen power generation units have already been exported to Europe and the Middle East. The company continues to drive commercialization of hydrogen power as a long-term zero-carbon solution for heavy-duty, long-haul transport.
4. Alternative Fuel Internal Combustion Engines
Weichai launched the world’s first China National VI–certified hydrogen internal combustion engine, alongside methanol-fueled variants. These engines reduce carbon emissions at low cost, require no infrastructure overhauls, and preserve user operating habits. They have been widely deployed in mining trucks, excavators, and oilfield generator sets.
5. Intelligent Driving Assistance System
Leveraging a proprietary vehicle-road-cloud integrated framework, Weichai leads China’s heavy-duty truck ADAS market in installation volume. Its autonomous mining solutions and highway-grade driving assistance systems lower operational costs and improve safety, accelerating the digital and intelligent transformation of the equipment industry.
By advancing both powertrain technologies and intelligent driving capabilities in parallel, Weichai delivers competitive integrated solutions that facilitate the global low-carbon transition of commercial vehicles and construction machinery.
