Golden Dragon New Tour Coach Makes Australian Debut in Sydney

17 July 2026

On July 15, 2026, the Australasia Bus and Coach Expo 2026 opened in Sydney, serving as the official stage for the public debut of Golden Dragon’s all-new 12-meter tour coach, engineered exclusively for the Australian market. This represents a significant step in the company’s commitment to meeting the demands of local operators.
Australia’s tourism sector is defined by its vast landmass, challenging mountain gradients, and extreme climate. To succeed in this market, a coach must offer more than just basic transport; it must serve as a reliable workhorse capable of handling heavy passenger and luggage loads over long distances. Golden Dragon’s development of this new model focused on addressing these specific operational pain points through deep localization.
The most notable innovation is the coach's superior baggage storage. By relocating the fuel tanks from their conventional mid-chassis position to the front and midpoint of the front axle, engineers have cleared the way for a through-type luggage hold with nearly 10 cubic meters of usable volume.

For long-haul routes that include steep, winding roads like the Blue Mountains, power reserves are essential. The new model is calibrated with a 400-hp engine, providing the necessary torque to maintain highway cruising speeds and climb inclines even when the coach is at full capacity.
Thermal management was another core priority during the design process. With Australia’s intense heat, Golden Dragon has equipped the coach with a robust cooling system engineered to operate reliably in ambient temperatures reaching 50°C. This ensures consistent fleet uptime and protects engine performance during the long, hot journeys typical of Australian cross-regional travel.
