Golden Dragon Ships 59 Luxury Buses to Sri Lanka with Custom Solutions

01 July 2026

Golden Dragon has rolled out 59 Triumph premium tour buses from its production line, destined for Sri Lanka—marking the third bulk order delivered to the country since 2025. Over the past two years, the Chinese bus manufacturer has supplied a total of 190 premium tour buses to Sri Lanka, capturing a leading market share and solidifying its position as a key partner in the island nation’s tourism transport recovery.

As a tropical South Asian economy heavily reliant on tourism, Sri Lanka saw its travel industry hit hard by multiple headwinds in previous years. However, starting in 2025, the global travel rebound drove a steady rise in international arrivals, sparking a surge in demand for high-end tour vehicles. With their advanced R&D and manufacturing capabilities, reliable performance, and strong cost-effectiveness, Chinese buses have become the preferred choice across Sri Lanka’s road transport sector—serving public transit, intercity routes, and luxury tourism operations alike.

To address Sri Lanka’s unique market dynamics—fragmented clientele, diverse customization needs, and challenging operating environments—Golden Dragon adopts a country-specific development strategy. Months before the project commenced, the company deployed a dedicated sales and technical team to conduct on-the-ground research in collaboration with local distributors. The team visited dozens of small and medium-sized tourism operators to identify real-world requirements: hilly terrain demands powerful engines, tourists expect superior ride comfort, and local agencies often request highly personalized body liveries and equipment configurations.

Leveraging these insights, Golden Dragon engineered bespoke vehicles optimized for local conditions. The buses feature right-hand-drive configurations with revised gearshift mechanisms and dashboard layouts, plus integrated Google Navigation to align with local travel habits. Powered by 400-horsepower high-output engines, they deliver ample climbing torque for mountainous roads. Upgraded seating and suspension systems ensure a smooth ride over long distances. In addition, Golden Dragon offers full customization, enabling operators to choose exclusive paint schemes and differentiated equipment packages that reflect their brand identities.

For after-sales support, Golden Dragon maintains a permanent team of professional service technicians in Sri Lanka, providing round-the-clock, full-lifecycle coverage—including vehicle maintenance, service training, and spare parts supply—to guarantee uninterrupted fleet operations.

“The delivery of this batch is further proof of Golden Dragon’s customer-first commitment,” said Yang Xuezheng, Manager of the company’s Central & Southeast Asia Sales Department. “We will continue to align with Sri Lanka’s evolving tourism landscape, leveraging our localized service network and customization capabilities to deliver increasingly competitive solutions for our local partners.”

As one of China’s earliest bus brands to expand globally, Golden Dragon now supplies bulk vehicle orders to more than 130 countries and regions. Looking ahead, the company will further advance its strategy of localized operations and customized product development, refining region-specific vehicles for diverse operational scenarios and deepening the integration of China’s high-end manufacturing with global public transport and cultural tourism industries.
