Moscow Strengthens Trade and Economic Cooperation with Saudi Arabia

A delegation from the Moscow took part in the "INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia" International Industrial Exhibition, which was held from 8 to 10 February 2026 in Riyadh and became one of the largest industrial platforms in the Persian Gulf region. The Moscow Government's stand featured 10 export-oriented companies from the capital in the fields of industrial automation, microelectronics, mechanical engineering, the medical industry, pharmaceuticals, energy technologies and educational solutions. During the exhibition, Moscow companies held more than 80 business meetings with potential partners and relevant development institutions. This was announced by Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

"On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the city is consistently developing trade, economic and industrial cooperation with friendly countries. The "INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia" exhibition is a key platform for interaction with Middle Eastern partners, both in terms of promoting the products of Moscow manufacturers and launching joint projects and attracting investment. The region has shown particular interest in the pharmaceutical and medical industries, biotechnology, instrument engineering, construction, the food industry, energy, and infrastructure for smart systems and data centers. During the event, Moscow companies held more than 80 business meetings and negotiations," emphasized Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the City of Moscow.

During the visit to Riyadh, talks were held with a number of key government bodies, investment agencies and business representatives from Saudi Arabia, including the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Invest and Saudi Made initiatives, the MODON Industrial Cities and Technology Zones Authority, Riyadh Techno Valley at King Saud University, AHQ Group, Atlas Factory and the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The parties discussed expanding industrial cooperation, launching potential joint projects and new forms of investment interaction.

"Unitel Engineering" and "Elektroprivod NPTs-21" held talks with representatives of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Industry and agreed on further cooperation on the localization of solutions and possible joint projects in the field of industrial automation and switchboard equipment. The Moscow Government's stand at the exhibition was also visited by representatives of business and official circles of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including members of the royal family. Prince Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Omari of Saudi Arabia was presented with developments from Moscow companies, including solutions from "Element Group" in the field of microelectronics and secure SIM technologies, which are in demand for telecommunications and digital projects in the region.

Special attention was paid to presenting the investment potential of the "Technopolis Moscow" special economic zone, one of the capital's key locations for high-tech manufacturing, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. Partners were presented with opportunities for locating enterprises in the SEZ, current tax and customs preferences, ready-made engineering infrastructure, and ongoing high-tech projects of residents.

Moscow's participation in the "INNOPROM. Saudi Arabia" demonstrated the high interest of the region's partners in investing in Moscow and the high-tech solutions of the capital's companies and became an important step in the development of long-term cooperation with the Persian Gulf countries, both in terms of the export agenda and the implementation of joint investment initiatives.
