Bishkek – At the 20th annual “Great Influence to China Buses Industry” awards ceremony, Ankai Bus was honored with the newly established “China Buses Overseas Great Achievements Award – Kyrgyzstan Star.” The accolade recognizes the company’s deep-rooted commitment and transformative contributions to the Kyrgyz market, marking another milestone in the global expansion of Chinese bus manufacturers and reinforcing the strength of homegrown brands overseas.

Launched to celebrate outstanding overseas performance by Chinese bus builders and to promote Belt and Road cooperation best practices, the “Kyrgyzstan Star” highlights companies that excel in product localization, technology transfer, service innovation, and social responsibility. Kyrgyzstan—a landlocked, mountainous country with 90% of its territory lying above 2,500 meters—imposes stringent demands on vehicle safety, reliability, and coldweather performance. As the nation accelerates its public transport modernization, Chinese buses have gained broad government and public approval through advanced technology, proven quality, and tailored solutions, serving as a green bridge between Beijing and Bishkek.
A pioneer in China’s “going global” initiative, Ankai has long pursued a threepronged strategy centered on “technology, quality, and service export.” In Central Asia, the company has steadily built an integrated model combining technical expertise, financial solutions, and after-sales support. In June 2025, 120 Ankai batteryelectric buses rolled off the production line in Hefei, traveled 4,000 kilometers along the Silk Road, and arrived in Bishkek for a landmark green mobility project. Financed by the Asian Development Bank, this delivery set a national record for single-batch electric bus orders and injected fresh momentum into Kyrgyzstan’s lowcarbon transition.

Each vehicle was engineered to meet local conditions: full compliance with UNECE R66 rollover safety standards, verified through rigorous tilttable testing; powertrain calibration for highaltitude, lowoxygen environments; and lowtemperature battery packs that retain over 85% capacity at –30 °C. A fresh, elegant livery and panoramic windows create a bright, airy interior that has immediately elevated the passenger experience. Such details reflect Ankai’s meticulous craftsmanship and reinforce the reputation of “Made in China, Smartly Engineered.”
Product delivery was only the beginning. Leveraging its “Ankai Big Family” service brand, the company stationed resident engineers in Bishkek, established a 24-hour response network, and helped set up the country’s first electric bus maintenance and operations center—inaugurated in the presence of the Kyrgyz President. Since entering service, the zeroemission, lownoise buses have drawn widespread praise on social media and become a visible symbol of deepening ChinaKyrgyzstan cooperation.
From initial ventures in Uzbekistan to a 300 units breakthrough in Kazakhstan and now the 120 units milestone in Kyrgyzstan, Ankai is methodically building a replicable “Central Asia model” driven by innovation and intelligence. The “Kyrgyzstan Star” award is both an industry recognition of Ankai’s competitive strength and a vivid testament to green collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Building on this honor, Ankai will continue to intensify its R&D efforts, advance product iteration, and enhance overseas services, further expanding its presence in Central Asia and beyond. More safe, comfortable, and sustainable new energy mobility solutions will carry “Ankai know-how” across the world, steering global public transport toward a greener future and writing the next chapter of China-Kyrgyzstan cooperation.
