Yuchai Vietnam Factory Officially Launches Production

10 December 2025

On December 5, the Yuchai Vietnam Factory, located in Hue City, Vietnam, was completed and commenced operations. This is Yuchai’s second overseas engine plant after its factory in Thailand, marking another significant milestone and strategic pivot in Yuchai’s internationalization strategy. It also highlights the fruitful achievements of collaboration between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing.

The Yuchai Vietnam Factory is an engine manufacturing plant jointly established by Yuchai and Vietnam’s Kim Long Motor. It is Vietnam’s first specialized automotive engine plant and serves as a strategic pivot to enhance the market position and brand value of Kim Long Motor and Yuchai in Vietnam and across the ASEAN region.

Construction of the factory began in August 2024. Leveraging decades of profound expertise in engine manufacturing, Yuchai provided comprehensive solutions for the factory’s development, covering production line setup, technical services, technology licensing, and digital system construction. The completion of the factory fully demonstrates the “China Speed” and “Yuchai Efficiency.” Equipped with globally leading, highly automated engine assembly lines, the factory primarily produces Yuchai’s full range of diesel and natural gas engines for applications in commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, marine vessels, and power generation. The first batch of products to roll off the production line includes flagship engine models such as the K11 and Y24.

In recent years, Yuchai has actively responded to the Belt and Road Initiative, deepening its international development strategy and comprehensively expanding its presence in overseas markets. A series of major overseas projects in Southeast Asia, Europe, and other regions have been successfully implemented, continuously strengthening Yuchai’s development momentum. From January to November this year, Yuchai’s overseas engine sales increased by over 50% year-on-year, contributing to multiple key operational indicators reaching historic highs for the full year.
