Maxus Debuts at Thailand Motor Show
03 December 2025
Bangkok – The 2025 Thailand International Motor Show opened this week, marking a significant milestone for Maxus. The brand seized the spotlight by launching four light-commercial EVs in the Thai market—the eDeliver 5, eDeliver 9, eDeliver 3, and eDeliver 7. This debut provides Thai fleet operators with their first access to advanced Chinese new-energy utility vehicles, which combine zero-emission performance with robust practicality. The move not only accelerates Maxus’s localization strategy but also signals a comprehensive push to deepen its presence in Thailand, the strategic hub of its broader Southeast Asian expansion.
Maxus Takes Center Stage in Bangkok
Thailand, long considered the automotive gateway to ASEAN, is undergoing a rapid transformation fueled by the rise of Chinese EVs. In a telling indicator of this shift, five of the country's top-selling battery-electric models in a recent period were from Chinese brands. Maxus is strategically positioned to ride this wave, targeting Thailand’s soaring demand for sustainable logistics—particularly within the government’s flagship Eastern Economic Corridor—by introducing cleaner and more efficient commercial transport solutions.

Four EVs, Covering Every Delivery Need
The four unveiled models, making their regional premiere, are designed to cover the full spectrum of delivery missions—from urban parcels to inter-city freight and executive transport. The headline battery-electric variants, the eDeliver 5 and eDeliver 9, are already established names in their home market, corresponding to the popular Maxus V1 and the New Tour EV90 models, respectively.
eDeliver 5 (V1): Offers a range of up to 403 km, supports an 80% DC fast charge in 30 minutes, and carries a payload of 1,265 kg.

Hailed by owner-drivers in China as "the ultimate solution for last-mile profitability."
eDeliver 9 (EV90): Boasts a range of 465 km, a generous 12.4 m³ cargo capacity, and is engineered for medium-haul, high-volume operations.
Its value proposition is succinctly captured by the factory tagline: "Carry more, run farther, cost less."

Global Pedigree, Local Relevance
The Thailand launch is a strategic expansion, not an isolated venture. Maxus products are already operating in over 100 countries, with five key markets each exceeding 10,000 unit sales: Australia/New Zealand, Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Mexico. The brand's overseas sales surged to 10,095 units in November 2025 alone, reflecting a remarkable 92% year-on-year growth, with orders, wholesale, retail, and shipments all surpassing the 10,000-unit threshold. This global scale and operational excellence provide a solid foundation for the Thai market rollout.
In neighboring high-specification markets, Maxus light-commercial vehicles (LCVs) already lead in market share in Singapore and Hong Kong. The eDeliver 5 has been the best-selling electric van in Singapore for consecutive months. Recent fleet tenders have further expanded its client portfolio, adding major logistics players like J&T Express and DHL to a growing list of corporate customers.
From Market Participant to Category Leader
Speaking at the show, the Head of Overseas Sales & Operations at Maxus stated:
“Thailand is wholeheartedly embracing smart, electric mobility. We are committed to introducing products meticulously tailored to local needs and, in close collaboration with our dealer partners, building an integrated network encompassing sales, service, and customer experience.”
The first Maxus flagship store in Thailand is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026. Through synchronized investments in product localization, channel development, and ecosystem building, Maxus is strategically evolving from a market entrant into a category leader—vividly showcasing to the world the global reach and mature capabilities of China's new-energy commercial vehicle industry.
