Zhongtong Delivers Fleet of 13-Meter Luxury Buses to The Bahamas

01 December 2025

A delivery ceremony for a new fleet of Zhongtong 13-meter luxury tourist buses was recently held in Freeport, the Bahamas. The event was attended by Zhang Hongliang, Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas, along with representatives from the Bahamian government, officials from the Grand Bahama Port Authority, and local media—marking a significant milestone in China-Bahamas cooperation.

As a world-renowned tropical tourism destination, The Bahamas sets high standards for vehicle safety, comfort, and climate resilience. To meet these demands, Zhongtong dispatched a technical team to conduct in-depth research on local high-temperature conditions and road environments. The result was a customized solution focused on performance optimization, passenger comfort, and operational efficiency.

The new buses feature a sleek dual-windshield design and dynamic exterior lines that complement the island’s scenic coastal landscape. Inside, the human-centered layout includes skin-friendly seat upholstery, adjustable leg rests, individual footrests, and cup holders, offering a premium travel experience. An advanced climate control system ensures rapid cabin temperature adjustment even in extreme heat, while the ergonomically designed wraparound driver console places controls within easy reach, reducing fatigue and enhancing safety.

With a capacity for 60 passengers, the buses also boast an industry-leading through-type oversized luggage compartment, significantly improving baggage handling and meeting the diverse needs of tourism transport.

Following the ceremony, guests took a test ride and praised the coaches for their smooth gear shifting, low interior noise, seating comfort, and thoughtful functionality. “This is truly a high-quality product tailored for The Bahamas, and it will bring a brand-new travel experience to our tourists,” commented an official from the Grand Bahama Port Authority.

Zhongtong Bus has maintained a strong partnership with The Bahamas since 2008, previously supplying 8-meter tourist coaches and double-decker buses to support the local tourism transport system. This latest delivery not only reinforces Zhongtong’s commitment to the Bahamian market but also marks a new milestone for Chinese bus brands in the Caribbean region—reflecting the deepening economic, trade, and technological exchange between China and The Bahamas.

Looking ahead, Zhongtong will continue to advance its strategy of “customized service + localized adaptation,” refining its products and services to support tourism mobility upgrades in The Bahamas and beyond. Through intelligent, China-made buses, the company aims to serve more users worldwide and contribute to a new era of high-quality development in global tourism transport.
