21 November 2025
GUANGZHOU – A fleet of 288 Zhongtong N7 electric buses has officially entered service with Guangzhou Bus Group, marking a significant step in the city's public transport modernization. The vehicles are now operating across key downtown routes, delivering zero-emission mobility coupled with enhanced passenger comfort and operational reliability.

As a national central city and core engine of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou has been steadily advancing its green transition in line with China's dual carbon goals. The city has rapidly scaled up its new energy bus deployment in recent years, achieving full electrification of all downtown bus services—elevating both urban sustainability and the daily commuter experience.

The new N7 models are currently serving routes 180, 188, 192, and Tourism Line 2. With their modern aesthetic and eco-efficient performance, the buses have quickly become a recognizable and welcome feature of Guangzhou’s streets.

Designed to meet the demands of high-frequency urban operation, the N7 features a zero-rear-overhang layout that expands standing room and boosts passenger capacity during rush hours. Accessibility has also been prioritized, with integrated wheelchair ramps and a dedicated securement area. Engineers tuned the powertrain for consistent range and responsive acceleration, while an air suspension system ensures a smooth, quiet ride even on uneven urban roads.

Equipped with multi-camera and radar systems, the N7 supports L2-level assisted driving, enhancing situational awareness and active safety. Other functional highlights include driver emergency assist, one-touch parking, blind-spot monitoring, and anti-pinch doors. Inside the cabin, a digital instrument cluster, electronic side window controls, and an electronic parking brake streamline driver operations, and an intelligent dispatching system helps optimize fleet efficiency.

This 288-bus deployment strengthens Zhongtong’s presence in the Greater Bay Area market. The manufacturer has continued to gain traction across Guangdong, Macao, and Hong Kong, leveraging tailored vehicle solutions and comprehensive service support to expand its influence in Southern China’s competitive bus sector.
