November 20 — A batch of 36 natural gas-powered buses from Golden Dragon will be shipped to Serbia, the company said Tuesday, marking the manufacturer's formal entry into the European country's public transport market.

The delivery comes after successful trial operations of a prototype vehicle earlier this year, representing another milestone in the China bus maker's European expansion strategy.

The cooperation with Serbia, a newly developed overseas market, has progressed steadily since initial contact was made in 2024. The client, Voluvic transport, a long-established Serbian bus operator, previously relied predominantly on European brands.

"The International Situation made us realize the need for more stable partners," said Dusko, Commercial Manager of Voluvic transport. "While we initially had concerns about China buses due to lack of experience, Golden Dragon's proven track record in demanding Nordic markets convinced us to reconsider."

A factory inspection helped ease the client's doubts. "The standardized manufacturing processes and professional R&D team demonstrated Golden Dragon's strong production capabilities," Dusko added.

The breakthrough came when Voluvic transport purchased a prototype for real-world testing. The bus completed over 30,000 kilometers across various road conditions with satisfactory performance, helping secure financing from previously hesitant local banks.

"The buses have exceeded our expectations," Dusko noted. "We used to consider European brands as the benchmark, but Chinese manufacturing has clearly reached the same level, if not surpassed it in some aspects."

The natural gas bus models, proven reliable through years of service in Israel, suit Serbia's abundant gas supply and developing electric vehicle infrastructure. The vehicles will serve as mobile showcases while providing eco-friendly transit solutions.

Golden Dragon has established local sales and service channels in Serbia, with plans to introduce more market-adapted models. "This is just the beginning," Dusko said. "We believe more Serbian clients will recognize Golden Dragon's quality."

The company continues to expand its global presence, contributing Chinese solutions to the worldwide transition toward greener public transportation.
