80 Golden Dragon Electric Buses Officially Launch Operations in Sweden
29 October 2025
A fleet of 80 Golden Dragon pure electric buses has officially entered service in Sweden. Prior to the launch, Lasse Anderson, Chairman of Eurobus Nordic—Golden Dragon's core partner in Northern Europe—led an end-user delegation on a tour of the brand's new Longhai plant for a factory inspection and final vehicle acceptance.

Deep Roots in the Nordics: A Technological Leap for Frigid Climates, from Norway to Sweden
"Eurobus Nordic and Golden Dragon have collaborated for many years, continuously refining every product detail to develop an electric bus perfectly adapted to the harsh, high-latitude climate of the Nordic region," Anderson told reporters. Golden Dragon has already delivered multiple batches of electric buses to Scandinavia, including Norway and Sweden, where they have earned widespread acclaim for their stable performance and forward-thinking technology. This latest batch of 80 units will be primarily deployed in Sweden, consolidating Golden Dragon's market presence and injecting "Chinese power" into the country's transition to low-carbon public transport.
A "Polar-Cold" Solution for Nordic Winters
Anderson emphasized that to tackle sub-zero temperatures and icy roads, the engineering teams from both sides co-developed a specialized "polar-cold package." This integrated system—combining high-capacity traction batteries, intelligent thermal management with heaters, heat pump technology, and diesel auxiliary heaters—ensures stable range performance even at temperatures below -20°C while maintaining passenger comfort. Leveraging years of field data, Golden Dragon also provides customized training for drivers and operators, ensuring the buses remain "reliable and durable" on winter roads and gradually establishing a new benchmark for electric mobility in the region.

Lightweight Body + High-Efficiency Electric Drive
By integrating a lightweight body structure with a highly efficient electric drive system, these buses achieve an even higher overall energy utilization rate. This approach not only meets Scandinavia's stringent environmental standards but also reduces long-term operating costs, effectively balancing "green" objectives with "economical" performance.
"Region-specific customization is at the core of our strategy," stated a Golden Dragon spokesperson. "For each market, we carefully consider climate conditions, regulatory requirements, and real-world operational needs to deliver differentiated, fully adapted solutions. The successful deployment of this Swedish order is a testament to our strong technical synergy and shared market insight."
Looking Ahead: Jointly Exploring the Nordic E-Mobility 'Blue Ocean'
During their visit to the Longhai production base, Anderson and his team inspected the automated production lines and intelligent inspection equipment, commending the company's R&D commitment and smart manufacturing capabilities. "The technological prowess of the new plant is impressive. It reflects Golden Dragon's relentless pursuit of superior quality and gives us full confidence in our future collaboration," Anderson noted.

He revealed that Eurobus Nordic is preparing to expand the partnership: beyond current models, the two parties will co-develop a next-generation of Nordic-specific electric buses for additional segments, including inter-city commuter coaches and tourist buses.
Anderson is highly optimistic about market prospects: "With Europe accelerating its carbon neutrality goals, demand for electric buses continues to rise. We now possess top-tier products, proven operational experience, and a close partnership, laying a solid foundation for sustained growth across Scandinavia." Eurobus Nordic will use this order as a springboard to deepen strategic cooperation with Golden Dragon and jointly advance the green transformation of public transport in the Nordic region.

For its part, Golden Dragon has pledged to continue increasing investment in new energy R&D: "We will remain sharply focused on the real-world needs of our customers, developing smarter and more reliable electrified solutions to help our global partners achieve sustainable development and accelerate the green revolution in public transport."
