On October 21, 2025, He Fei, the Charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Uruguay, attended the delivery ceremony of BYD electric buses from China held at Montevideo's Municipal Square. The event was also attended by Uruguay's Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Cardona; the Mayor of Montevideo, Bergara; Counselor Jiang Minghui from the Chinese Embassy; President Salgado of the CUTCSA bus company; and representatives from BYD Uruguay. He Fei took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and, together with the Uruguayan guests, toured the vehicles.
