400 Chinese New Energy City Buses Head to Pakistan

24 October 2025

Under the grand blueprint of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor continues to yield fruitful results. The strategic cooperation between Yutong and Pakistan's public transport sector has deepened further. Recently, 400 Yutong new energy buses were delivered in bulk to Pakistan and are gradually commencing operations across 19 cities in Punjab Province.

This cooperation deal saw Yutong achieve three remarkable records in Pakistan: the largest single order for new energy buses, the largest order in the bus segment, and the largest order for commercial coaches.

Chinese Buses Drive Acceleration of Pakistan's Green Transition

The large-scale introduction of new energy buses is a crucial part of Pakistan's accelerated national green transition strategy. As a country with a population of approximately 250 million, the contradiction between the capacity of Pakistan's traditional transport systems and its growing travel demands is becoming increasingly prominent.

To address this, Pakistan's Ministry of Industries and Production issued the "National Electric Vehicle Policy 2025-2030" in July 2025, explicitly identifying electric vehicles as the core direction for future transportation development. The policy aims for electric vehicles to account for 30% of new vehicle sales by 2030. Punjab Province, in particular, has prioritized the promotion of electric buses to improve public transport and promote cleaner air.

Leveraging its advanced technology and strong reputation in the global new energy sector, Yutong has become a highly trusted partner and brand for new energy buses in Pakistan. The delivery of these 400 Yutong new energy buses significantly promotes the comprehensive green transition of public transport across all 19 cities in Punjab Province.

Winning Deep Trust in Regional Markets with Precise, Customized Solutions

Yutong consistently adheres to a "one country, one policy" customization strategy, deeply understanding and respecting the uniqueness of each market. For Pakistan's actual operating conditions, Yutong provided a deeply customized product solution.

To address Pakistan's hot and arid summer climate, Yutong equipped the vehicles with an industry-leading power battery nitrogen protection system to eliminate fire risks associated with battery cells and effectively ensure public transport safety. The buses feature a dual middle-door design to optimize passenger flow efficiency during peak hours. Through differentiated spatial configuration with separate front and rear seating areas, they balance passenger capacity with local travel habits.

Yutong understands that the successful delivery of an order is just the beginning; stable and reliable full-cycle service is key to winning long-term customer trust. To this end, Yutong has established a comprehensive after-sales service network in Pakistan. A professional team of 56 Chinese and local staff is on call 24/7. Supported by 8 service outlets and 1 mobile service team spread across the country, Yutong has managed to keep the average service radius under 150 kilometers, ensuring a rapid response to customer needs.

KD Factory + Ecosystem Co-development: Building a Sustainable Model for China-Pakistan Cooperation

As a steadfast practitioner of the Belt and Road Initiative, Yutong has established a KD (Knock-Down) factory in Pakistan. Quality inspection experts and KD managers are stationed year-round to provide production process guidance. Through industrial chain collaboration and technology transfer, Yutong has systematically contributed to the upgrade of Pakistan's bus manufacturing industry.

Furthermore, leveraging its comprehensive training system, Yutong continuously provides free technical training for operators, bus drivers, and local employees. As of August this year, Yutong had conducted over 80 service training sessions in Pakistan, covering more than 1,000 participants and imparting advanced driving and maintenance skills to local practitioners.

More notably, with the deployment of these 400 new energy buses, over 1,500 direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created locally. Once again, the "Chinese Solution" is injecting fresh vitality into the local economy and social development through concrete action.

Since entering the Pakistani market in 2008, Yutong, through 17 years of continuous dedication, has seen its products cover multiple scenarios including passenger transport, public buses, group travel, and airport shuttles, becoming the leading Chinese bus brand in the local market.

Empowering with "Green", Advancing with "Innovation". As the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor enters a new phase, Yutong continues to inject more green momentum into Pakistan's sustainable development with its "Chinese Solution". In the future, Yutong will continue to work hand-in-hand with relevant Pakistani enterprises on the broad path of the Belt and Road Initiative, driving together towards a greener and more prosperous future.
