From Brussels to the World: Golden Dragon Announced the Dedicated Evolution at Busworld 2025
15 October 2025
October 4, 2025, Brussels – The Busworld Brussels, one of the world's most influential professional bus exhibitions, opened in grand style. This year's event brought together over 500 exhibitors and more than 300 new vehicle models from across the globe. Golden Dragon Bus made a striking appearance, showcasing three new energy models that collectively demonstrate the latest achievements of China's bus industry. Among them, the all-new high-end flagship coach, the GC15, made its global debut, becoming one of the highlights of the exhibition.
Systematic Innovation: From Standalone Products to Platform Strategy
In an interview with the media, Peng Dongqing, Chairman of Golden Dragon Bus, stated : “This new platform bus is not just a new model—it represents Golden Dragon’s entirely new technological system. We hope it shows the world the new heights Chinese buses have reached in high-end development and systematic innovation.”
He explained that the new generation of platform models launched by Golden Dragon this time achieves true “full-range coverage.” From 8 to 15 meters, spanning public transport, passenger transport, and tourist commuter services, and covering pure electric, diesel, and natural gas power systems, Golden Dragon has established a complete system characterized by modularization, commonality, serialization, and platformization.
“This means our products are no longer developed in isolation but share a unified technological platform. The body frame, components, supply chain, manufacturing processes, and even the after-sales system all operate synergistically under the same logic. The platform accelerates every aspect—from production efficiency and product consistency to service responsiveness. We have also made significant efforts in lightweighting. Electric vehicles are highly sensitive to weight—energy efficiency is competitiveness. Process upgrades, structural optimization, and energy management may seem like isolated points, but they are all driven by the same logic: building more efficient systems and creating more sustainable products.”
Evolution in Craftsmanship: The Systemic Leap from ‘Manufacturing’ to ‘Intelligent Manufacturing’
The competition in high-end buses is, at its core, a competition in craftsmanship and attention to detail. Peng Dongqing noted: “European brands have long led in assembly precision and process consistency, but Chinese buses are narrowing this gap.”
With the launch of Golden Dragon’s Longhai new production base, a new generation of production systems and intelligent manufacturing processes has been fully introduced. Through high-precision tooling fixtures, automated welding, and robotic painting systems, the overall exterior consistency and structural accuracy of the vehicles have achieved a qualitative leap.
Global Vision: The “Window of Opportunity” for Chinese Buses
Regarding market strategy, Peng Dongqing believes that the European market is the “strategy within the strategy” for Golden Dragon and for the entire Chinese bus industry.
“We established our overseas strategy during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and the core of the 15th Five-Year Plan is high-end positioning and the European market. The advent of electrification has placed Chinese and European buses on the same starting line. The next five years represent a critical window for Chinese buses to truly enter the mainstream European market.”
He acknowledged that the gap between China and Europe was significant during the era of fuel-powered buses over the past decade, but electrification has redefined the competitive landscape.
“The European market has extremely high requirements for safety, environmental protection, comfort, and intelligence—and these are precisely the areas we have been continuously breaking through. The launch of the GC15 is our key to entering the mainstream European market.”
Conclusion: Winning Respect with Product Strength, Securing the Future with Systemic Capability
In closing, Peng Dongqing emphasized: “Future competition will not merely be about the performance of individual vehicles, but a contest of systems. Golden Dragon aims not only to build excellent buses but to establish a comprehensive product and service system capable of continuous iteration and supporting high-end markets.”
From technological innovation to systemic upgrades, from manufacturing craftsmanship to intelligent experiences, Golden Dragon Bus is steadily demonstrating the new strength of Chinese manufacturing to the world.
