Xinjiang Zhongtong Performed Exceptionally Well in Q1

On May 25, 2009, thirty brand new buses went into service on Line 905 in Urumqi. What is noteworthy is that the fleet is entirely manufactured by Xinjiang Zhongtong Bus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xinjiang Zhongtong), a young bus builder set up by Shandong-based Zhongtong Bus & Holding Co., Ltd. at the beginning of the new century.
Although China’s bus & coach industry is now faced with unprecedented challenges due to the ongoing global financial crisis, Xinjiang Zhongtong has been running smoothly. In the first quarter of 2009, it is reported that the company successfully sold over 170 units of buses. From the beginning of this year till now, it has secured orders of nearly 300 units, a handsome sales volume that has already surpassed its total sales in 2008.
Thanks to its favorable geographic location, Xinjiang Zhongtong has now become the forefront for its parent company to expand its presence in Central Asia and Europe. Since its establishment, Xinjiang Zhongtong has been given strong financial supports. Currently, it boasts an annual production capacity of 3,000 units of buses in various categories, becoming the largest bus builder in west China.
