PANGOOD Showcases Core E-Drive Innovations at Busworld 2025

07 October 2025

Brussels, 4 October 2025 – The 2025 Busworld Brussels, a premier global commercial vehicle event, opened today in Belgium. At this biennial exhibition, PANGOOD unveiled its latest R&D achievements in axial flux electric drive system solutions, delivering core power support for the worldwide electrification of commercial vehicles.
Making its debut at Busworld, the PDS450K – an electric drive system purpose-built for the complex operating conditions of new-energy heavy-duty trucks – attracted significant attention from industry specialists. Integrating the PANGOOD ICS450K axial flux motor with a 4-speed gearbox, the system achieves a dual 92.5% high-efficiency zone, significantly reducing energy consumption across a wider range of operating conditions and lowering user operating costs.

Weighing only 355 kg with an axial dimension of 755 mm, the PDS450K is nearly 200 kg lighter and about 340 mm shorter in length than solutions using radial flux motors. This highly compact and lightweight design not only saves valuable vehicle space but also enhances load capacity, enabling greater economic efficiency in transport operations.

The new-generation "Metro Bus" electric drive solution for buses now offers a peak system power of 320 kW, delivering stronger drive and load capacity. Featuring an integrated "axial flux motor + planetary gear reduction" structure, the solution is more compact, occupies less space, and enables combined "drive + steering" functions at the rear wheels, improving operational flexibility. Equipped with a new electronic differential system and two-stage gear transmission, it boosts transmission efficiency by 5–6%. The use of innovative lightweight materials and manufacturing processes reduces total weight by approximately 10% compared to the previous generation.

To date, more than 12,000 buses equipped with the "Metro Bus" solution have been deployed in China, enabling revolutionary upgrades such as full low-floor designs, smaller vehicles replacing larger ones, and significantly expanded interior space. In Europe, Austria’s eVersum began adopting PANGOOD’s "Metro Bus" solution in 2021, and vehicles are now being delivered in batch. Established manufacturers like France’s Blus and the UK’s Alexander Dennis have also shown strong interest. At this year’s Busworld, the solution again drew widespread attention, with numerous international clients and partners stopping to explore collaboration.

The PDS310KWA electric drive solution targets urban logistics, short-distance delivery, and mini/micro bus applications. Its architecture, based on axial flux motors and distributed wheel-side drive, delivers strong torque output and rapid response, fully meeting the power demands of light commercial vehicles in complex road conditions.

Thanks to the highly integrated design of the drive motor and wheel hub, when applied in light vans, the cargo compartment can be positioned between the two drive wheels. This lowers the load platform height by approximately 400 mm without increasing overall vehicle height, increasing cargo volume by over 20% and enabling around 3.5 m³ more goods per trip – significantly boosting end-user revenue with almost no increase in total cost of ownership.

At this year’s Busworld, PANGOOD also showcased the value and advantages of its technologies in electric two-wheelers, construction machinery, and other fields, alongside its latest R&D breakthroughs in axial flux motor technology. With a diverse product portfolio and strong technical capabilities, PANGOOD continues to inject momentum into the electrification of commercial vehicles and multiple other sectors, demonstrating its core competitiveness in the global new-energy power industry.

Globally, PANGOOD’s axial flux motors and electric drive solutions already serve a wide range of applications, including buses, heavy trucks, mining trucks, sanitation vehicles, specialized vehicles, construction machinery, marine propulsion, drones, high-speed electric motorcycles, garden machinery, industrial applications, range-extender generators, and robotics. Products are exported to more than 30 countries and regions, including the United States, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia, creating “beyond expectations” value upgrades for customers and partners worldwide, and driving technological revolution across the electric drive industry.
